Award-Winning Creative Team
Meet the Creators
Miles Davis is an award-winning artist, author and illustrator. Though the Butterpup & friends™ series was his first venture into children’s books, he has since illustrated over a dozen children’s books for himself and others.
Merissa Davis is an accomplished graphic designer and creative director, and works with companies to successfully design and build their brands.
Miles and Merissa joined creative forces in 2005. Amid running the fine art studio Massive Burn Studios, the pair created Butterpup and the Backyard Buddies as a way to recapture the magic of childhood and introduce young audiences to imaginative and creative play.
When they are not creating, the pair enjoys exploring the great outdoors with their pup Pica.
